it's getting late!!!!

Christmas is finally over!!! Yeah!! slpless nite or nite with insuff rest is now over.. hate it when i doze off while waiting for the bus, on the bus.. so unglam can!!! (but lor.. i dun noe how i slp leh!!! but shld nt be tat glam!! haha)...
Brought frenz on sat, the first svc of Christmas... it's nt tat gd.. it started off bad; me n my frenz were driven to hall 7 when we reach at 430.. i noe it wil be overwhelming but it's tooo..... hmmm... my frenz were so pissed that they wan to go home.. sertiously, we cant feel the atmosphere in hall 7... kinda sad!! my onli svc that i can sit with my frenz.... i din even enjoy the drama as i'm constantly distracted by my frenz.. they r feeling so uncomfortable that their bodies kip moving abt... ai yo!!!! my onli time to watch the drama leh!! miss the drama la... but it's ok!!!
on the second day, i was doing alpha with Shirley and yonbg tian.. it's kinda messy.. no one wan to sit there moreover, a lot of them came late.. annoying can!!! imagine we hv to fill ppl in at the midst of drama. i think a lot of ppl get annoyed by me.. haha!! but no choice.. how can i ushger in the presence of god with loop holes here n there...
third day of svc duty is rather slack.. i was told that i was 80 (Alex choh) runner for svc 6 and 7 which are the last 2 svc of Christmas... then, i can start to plan wat to do for tat 2 svcs. but......me???? y me??? even esther's runner is a veri experienced TL but... me??? wow!! they hv faith in me!! =)last day leh!! confirm a lot of ppl would like to come to church on christmas day...but it jus happen so that i'm 80 runner...
i think is hui erl who constantly challenged me to step out; she always give me opp that the other leaders do nt have.. sometimes, i wil feel pressurized .. sometinmes, i wil feel honored... this constant "pushing" really help me to grow and learn.. and moreover, it constantly remind me that i shld step out; nt jus staying in my comfort zone... tx lau da!! tx for thius opp.. i think i had grabbed it well.. i hope that there r more opp to come!!! =)
on the day itself, i'm super nervous.. i din really slp the nite be4 as i'm still busy with the fig 80 wan and digesting fro others' more senior TLs on wat 80 usually ask.. in short, asking them for tips... haha... at the beginning, i felt do useless; wat eva 80 ask, i cant ans.. in the end, he din ask me but esther, 92. kinda of sad.. i'm his runner but yet i dun noe how to ans... oh man!! that bad enuf ya???? feel so useless at the pt of time... but i got used to it after sometime... running with 80 is always a gd experience.. running with him is nt stressful but meaningful/ fruitful... he wil teach me along the way; allow me to open my eyes n look at bigger pic... along the way, i oso did some work.. like wateva he said during the svc or the instruction he gave during the duty, i took it down... after everything, i sat down and ask him.. he's so patient that he ans all mny qn... in the meanwhile, he taught me others besides my qn...
things i learnt fro 80:
1. the reason why he fill main hall first, then overflowed room then tunnel.
a. of course fill main hall first.. that's obvious ya??
b. y overflowed room?? at the pt of time, the hall is jam packed. we can hardly allow ppl to go in or the situation will be worse.. and 80 is veri confident that the crowd wun ease for the nxt 10 min.. so he made a bold choice to usher ppl into the hall... y the crowd wun ease in the nxt 10 min? cos it is common to c that the heaviest crowd comes when it is 10 min be4 svc starts and 20 min after svc has started...y nt tunnel?? imagine u r the congregation, u r already channled to the tunnel but yet after a while, u c ppl started to go into the zone n settled down, how wil u feel?? this kind of things often happen cos ushers are human. we stil do make mistake ya??? n moreover, tunnel is usually used to fill late comers. but there's no formula for tat cos diff svc, diff chief usher runs differently..
2. calmness.
During yesterday's svc, the main set holders are obviously screamning over the net... cos the situation is real messy.. but 80 is so calm.. he kip give instructions every 5 min and he kip asking the main set holders to calm down.."Guys, relax!!!" in his mind, he's really strateging the nxt move.. wow!!! he always look at onbe corner of the hall, occassionally he wil stand there and stare.. actually, he's trying to hv a feel abt the svc.. occassionally, he wil turn cos he jus hear the voice prompting him.. n almost 100%, is the holy spirit prompting him.. he really after svc,show me how to get commune with god in times of duty... i met up with him.. he told me taht he got used to run such svc so he noe how to control.. he kip telling them to relax cos the more anxious u r, the worse decsion one wil make.. ya, veri veri true... he oso told me how he mnormally predict the no coming for svc.. like the steps ppl take??? he mentioned that the faster ppl walk, the more ppl is predicted.. but y?? i stil dun understand.. i admit i wil get anxious when things got heated up.. i noe this is where i belong.. i noe why i'm in usher ministry n nbt other ministry le.. another pt of ref; god wan to use me; he wan to mould me in this area..
3. the laying of chairs
a. Open black cloth - tat's obvious
b. Lay the last row of Charlie followed by Bravo and Delta- Charlie is the top priority; last row is the most difficult to lay esp when the crowd is heavy. So to make things easier , lay the last roe of the terrences first
c. Lay the 9 chairs at the side of alpha and echo first - most difficult to fill ppl in
d. Lay causeway of Charlie, Bravo and Delta - diff to lay comparatively
e. Lay first row of Charlie, Bravo and Delta - fill back the seats that are previously removed
f. Lay CTE - it is where there's alittle flow of ppl
g. Lay last row of arena - wun create much distractions to the flow
h. Lay PIE of Charlie, Bravo and Delta - wun create much distractions to the flow
i. Lay 2 back rows in alpha and echo - last esort; worsew view as compare
j. Conference room - hall is unable to CONTAIN liao!!! haha
After the duty, 80 teaches me abt all these stuff.. he realy go in depth to explain to me why he choose this way.. everything he did really make sense.. (Of course la.... he's the Chief Usher la!!! ) besides sharing me abt the methods and ways, he oso pointed out the area i shld break thru; the area of confidence.. he mentione d that as a young leader, of u r nt confident, how can i expect my ushers to follow me my ushers? where can my ushers get a proper role model?? he pointed that wheneva i talked to him, i wilk think n hesitate.. ya.. tat's true!!! dun hv the confidence in myself taht i can make it.. Moreover, the conversation with him is a veri personal one. he told me abt his area of breakthru too; the area of trust. sonce the churcjh is operating in 2 areas, he wld hv to trust the laeders over there to do a gd job.. he's trying to break thru in this area... Go Brother Alex!!!!
After being 80's runner for twice, i discovered thatr running with him is nt as stressful.. instead of stressing me, he really spend time tecahing me... enjoy. there are stil more to go.. really hope to be his runner sometimes soon.. more to come!!!
